Periodontal Consultation
Your gum assessment
Your gum assessment with Gemma will always begin with a conversation about your gum health and why you have been referred to our clinic. Co-diagnosis is an important and central concept to Gemma's work; you will be involved in developing your gum treatment plan. Typically, you may be referred by your dentist, dental hygienist or dental therapist for this assessment when your gums are not responding to traditional treatments and advanced care is required.
Your gum assessment will involve:
-
Full in-depth measurements and assessment of your gum and bone condition utilising our advanced Florida Probe software
-
An evaluation of your bone levels and the support that it is providing your teeth
-
Review of your teeth, gums, bone and soft tissue. This is to detect any issues that need referring to your general dentist.
-
An in-depth review of your medical history
-
Radiographs if needed
-
Co-diagnosis and treatment planning
-
An in-depth report outlining all of your gum issues and her recommendations for treatment
